- understand the uses of and tools/techniques used in databases
- design a relational database
- develop and test a relational database
- review the finished relational database.
My thoughts about this unit
I wasn’t sure about this unit to begin with as I didn’t know much about databases and thought it sounded a bit boring to be honest. Our first job was to find out about databases, to get the knowledge!
Our tutor told us that if we didn’t know about how database tools were used then we would find it really difficult to get ideas when it was our turn to design one.
So the slide show below is the content of my first assignment. In it I tell you what databases are and how they are used (giving examples). It goes on to let you know about the different tools and techniques that are used for database.
